Do you like Halloween?
It was fun to see the children come in their costumes
It was so fun to have a Rapunzel, Anna, Elsa, a shark, ninja turtle, monkey, skeleton, witch, transformer, frog, Superman, Snow White, Safari Guide and a baby giraffe!
Favorite thing/interesting fact about their costume?
Harris: His skeleton is actually his pajamas, for Halloween he is going to be a firefighter with a black hat
Anna: Elsa, she let us know that when she gets food on her costume, it stains
Raegan: Rapunzel. She loved using her mom's scarf as her hair
Lena: Ana. She loved the flowers on her costume
Zakai: Frog. He likes bouncing up and down
Lukas: Shark. He likes that it is not tiny and likes to eat people
Tanner: Raphael Ninja Turtle. He likes that his costume is cozy and feels like pajamas
Ben: Bumblebee the Transformer. He likes that it is yellow
Maelo: Monkey. He likes peeling the banana
Eva: Witch. She is going to be one of the 7 dwarfs on Halloween
Toys: Puzzles, Potato Heads, Marble game, Tiny Town Blocks. "Grocery Store" Linkin blocks, play food, shopping baskets, and cash register with play bills and coins.
Snacks: Pirates Booty, pumpkin mandarin orange, banana ghost
For snack we made a pumpkin out of a mandarin orange and a celery stick! The children also loved making a ghost by sticking mini chocolate chips in a banana. They had fun eating their creations!
Halloween Movie: Short clip from Max and Ruby's Halloween
Dancing to Halloween Tunes--so cute to see the little ones dressed up and boogieing.
Activities: Boo Bubbles. We loved playing with the bubbles that you can hold! They emit "smoke" when popped.
We read many Halloween-inspired stories!
Songs: 5 Little Pumpkins
We learned about Mother Goose Rhymes. Parents a wonderful way of teaching "Rhyming" is to read the sometimes silly Mother Goose Rhymes and then ask your student to pick up the rhyming couplets. Also, play rhyming games in the car and in the grocery store. Make it a game: "bug on a ___" (rug).
